  • Admire extraordinary summer scenery of the Lofoten archipelago

  • Enjoy the charm of one of the islands’ authentic fishing villages

  • Wander local areas on foot

  • Explore Lofoten and learn fascinating local history

The tour starts in Lofoten's unofficial capital, Svolvær. From here, you can see Svolværgeita, the 150-metre stone pinnacle of the mountain Fløyfjellet. Popular with mountain climbers, this iconic mountain peak is known for its goat-like appearance, with two horns protruding from the very top.

We’ll take a scenic drive to Henningsvær, passing Vågan church, the largest wooden church north of Trondheim. As we get closer to our destination, we’ll be driving with the sea on one side and a steep mountainside on the other. Keep your camera ready to capture the stunning summer scenery.

Once we reach Henningsvær, you’ll get the chance to explore world-class art galleries, including Gallery Lofoten. This gallery has the world's largest collection from the 20th century, the so-called "Golden age of North-Norwegian art".

On our way back to Svolvær, we’ll stop off at SKREI Heritage Centre, which includes the Lofoten Museum, Gallery Espolin, and the Lofoten Aquarium. At the Lofoten Museum, you can learn about how local fishermen and landowners lived throughout history, before heading to the gallery to admire unique portraits of Lofoten’s people. Check out the aquarium to see a variety of local marine life, including seals and otters, and of course the cod or "skrei", that gave the centre its name.
