Please note: Due to a high risk of rockfalls, the local authority has decided to close the Trollstigen pass, leading to Åndalsnes, for the rest of 2024. As such this excursion will take an alternative route from the plateau to Molde. Panoramic views of the Trollstigen pass will still be visible from the plateau.
Explore the landscape around the village of Geiranger and enjoy panoramic views of UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord on this excursion. You’ll begin with a bus drive up winding Ørneveien (Eagle Road), all the while taking in the magnificent scenery en route to Eidsdalsvatnet Lake. From there, you’ll descend back to sea level to take a picturesque ferry ride from Eidsdal to Linge.
Back on dry land, we pass through stark, high-alpine areas to Gudbrandsjuvet (Gudbrands Gorge). The Valldøla River rushes through this five-metre narrow ravine, some 25 metres high. You’ll see that the water has carved out deep potholes and intricate rock formations.
We’ll then go to another highlight of this trip: the series of 11 hairpin bends down steep Trollstigen Pass. At the bottom, it’s time for a hot drink and a bite to eat before we continue to the gentler landscape of Romsdalsfjord. The excursion finishes with a sumptuous dinner in Molde before you embark your ship again.
Excursion is subject to a minimum number of participants.
