This tour is an introduction to cross-country skiing for beginners. We ski on flat terrain, mostly on prepared trails on the top of the Tromsøya island, a short drive from the city center. At first, we teach you how to put the skis on and take them off. Then we begin skiing by using basic techniques in a completely flat area. Then come more lessons on technique. By the end of the tour, you can challenge yourself on small hills. We ski toward the north part of the island in a scenic area with birch and spruce forests. After skiing, we will take a break to sit down beside the bonfire and you will be served hot drink and lefse. You will have some time to ask your guide more about our nature, the Arctic, or just everyday life in Tromsø. Biggest risk of this trip? After the tour you will most likely be able to practice new acquired skills on your own, and probably start thinking about coming back for even longer.
