From the quay in Rørvik, it’s a 20-minute bus transfer to the small town of Kolvereid, the home of the remarkable Kolvereid Prestegårds Kunstmuseum. Over the last 50 years, local owner Magne Olav Aarsand Brevik has carefully curated a remarkable collection here, showcasing the talents of both Norwegian and international artists.
This fascinating treasure trove includes original drawings by Munch, a signed lithograph of Norway’s iconic "Winter Night in the Mountains" by Harald Sohlberg, and a diverse range of original works by other gifted individuals.
The museum’s offerings also extend beyond the realm of art to include a captivating array of objects and crafts, including religious artifacts and exquisite Ming porcelain.
