  • Discover the beauty of Senja, often nicknamed “the fairytale island”

  • Hike to a panoramic summit for a bird’s-eye view of the glorious scenery

  • Learn more about the area with a local guide

Explore the beautiful scenery of Senja on this guided evening hike under the glow of the Midnight Sun. Our route follows an old path up to the dam of one of the world's first hydroelectric power stations. Commissioned in 1882, it was built to provide street lighting for the locals who worked at the local nickel works.

As we continue up the mountain, our knowledgeable guide will regale us with local stories of the area’s history and culture. After 1.5 km, we’ll reach the plateau, where we can stop for a well-earned rest. Here, we can admire the fantastic view down over Bergsfjorden and Hamn i Senja, illuminated by the evening sun. We’ll retrace our steps down the mountain towards the bus, to take us back to the ship.
