Travel back in time on a horse as you walk past the remains of longship boat houses.
Ride through a beautiful fishing harbour and past the traditional racks used to make stockfish.
Trot along a white-sand beach and admire open views across the Arctic Ocean towards Gimsøy.
We start at the stable at Hov where you’ll get used to your horse at the oval track. When ready, we ride on the white sandy beach. The ride also goes through the amphitheatre and what we believe was a place of sacrifice from the Viking age. We pass remains of the boat houses for longships used on voyages by the Vikings who once lived on Hov.
After the beach we ride past our Nordic-style lodges and over a ridge and cliffs by the sea with a great open view towards the outside of Gimsøy.
We’ll also ride past the traditional fish racks, where the stockfish is made, and through the lovely fishing harbour of Hovsund.
This tour does not require any riding experience and everyone is more than welcome to join the adventure!
