Esbjerg is a blend of historic charm and modern Scandinavian chic. It’s easy to get around on foot, and a shuttle bus will take you into the centre so you can explore at leisure.

En route you can choose to make a stop at the city’s landmark, the 9-meter sculpture “Man Meets the Sea” which gazes out over the horizon. The sculptures were installed in 1995 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the municipality.

Practical information: 

  • Remarks/requirements: Dress according to local weather conditions (we recommend layers, the outer being wind/waterproof) and good footwear. 

  • Walking information: Shuttle bus to town centre. Optional 20 shallow steps to reach the sculptures. Can be viewed from path as well.
