On the second day here, you’ll visit Quito’s historic center on a guided tour. Then head to the ‘Middle of the World City’, where you can stand with one foot on either side of the Equator.

Awe-inspiring Galápagos Islands

Next, you’ll journey to the uniquely inspiring isles of the Galápagos and visit the islands of Santiago, Rábida, Bartolomé, Genovesa, and Santa Cruz. Experience an array of beautiful landscapes harboring a variety of ecosystems and see iconic wildlife such as marine iguanas, giant tortoises, Nazca boobies, and Darwin’s finches. On this active cruise with an onboard Expedition Team of local guides, you’ll get closer to many natural wonders on our small panga boats, kayaks, and glass-bottom boat.

We’ll begin our exploration of the Galápagos Islands in the afternoon by following the north shore of Santa Cruz to the fascinating landscapes of Cerro Dragón, or Dragon Hill, where we’ll land. On the first part of our walk, we’ll pass a brackish lagoon that is frequented by shorebirds and American flamingos. Further inland, the trail offers a beautiful view of the bay and the western islands of the archipelago, as well as your first chance to encounter some land iguanas.
